Missions of Zhengzhou Science and Technology bureau are:

      1.To implement the guidelines, policies and regulations for national science and technology to promote economic and social development, to rearch and set forth the drafts of the policies, measures  and  regulations for zhengzhou science and technology development to promote economic  and social development;  to  implement rejuvenation  zhengzhou through science and technology, to conduct the work of underling counties for rejuvenation counties through science and technology.

      2.To conduct  research  on key  issues relating  to the promotion of economic and social development by science and technology, to research and determine the development layout and priority areas for science and technology development; to promote the establishment of  Zhengzhou  science  and  technology  innovation  system, to guide zhengzhou sustainable development of comprehensive trial place.

      3.To research and formulate the plan for science and technology popularization, and to coordinate the development of science and technology popularization

      4.To research and set forth guidelines, policies and measures for the reform in the science and technology systems, to guide the reform in science and technology.

      5.To research measures for increasing science and technology investment through various channels, optimize the allocation of science and technology resources and take charge of the science expenditure, the  "three-item  expenditure" , the special funds and the development funds on science and technology.

      6.To administer  and  manage  the  work on  Chinese  National Innovation Fund Project for small and medium sized  enterprises,  as  well as  Provincial  Science  Foundation  Project for outstanding talent, Provincial Natural Science Foundation Project, and Provincial science and technology achievements extension Project.

      7.To research and set forth policies and measures for applied basic research and  speeding
  hi-tech development, to formulate the plans for key applied basic research program, hi-tech
research and  development  program ,  technology  research  and  development  program,  key
technology results transformation program, basic research program, scientific and technological innovation program and society development program, to organize implementation the above policies and plans.

      8.To coordinate relevant government departments  and  set  forth  policies  that  can  fully encourage  the  enthusiasm of  science  and  technology  talents ,  to participate and organize information technology training for technology administrators.

      9.To take charge of international cooperation and exchange  in  science  and technology,
to research and formulate the plan of international cooperation and exchange in science and technology, to take charge of technology examination and secrecy examination of technology exporting items.

      10.To  manage  the  work  such  as  basic  research, science and technology information, science and technology invention, science   and   technology   achievements ,   science   and   technology   awards ,  science and technology  statistics ,  science  and  technology secrecy, science and technology archives and technology market.

      11.To research  and  formulate  development  policies ,  measures of non-state-owned technology enterprises and scientific research institutions, to take charge of science project determination for non-state-owned technology enterprises, to  approve  the  establishment and adjustment of scientific research institutions.

      12.To take charge of application and extension of electronic information system as well
as popularization education on information, to conduct the development and utilization of information resources in the city.

      13.To  guide  and  coordinate  technology  management  work of various departments, counties and districts under zhengzhou government.
